Uncle Ruiz with his Utility Cargo bike

Emeritus LCSG Uncle Ruiz
Diane met one cool dude in Singapore who uses bicycles to get around. Really. His name is  Uncle Ruiz. He cycles to work everyday on this modified 5speed tricycle. He removed the rear basket, afixing a large metal box with a combination lock at the back instead. It contains all his tools (presumably for work) inside. "You must try. Come, try." he said. And so I did; dabsmack in the middle of busy Lower Delta.  Diane added " I also asked him if he was worried anyone would steal his trike. He said that trikes don't get stolen because it looks like it's for old people or for garbage collectors. (again, his words, not mine)"
Please wave and say hello to him when u meet him on the road!

He is fit as a fiddle and has a cheery smile. He was very glad the folks come to visit the hot spring... and amazed we came on bicycles. Pls say hello if u see him there!

Steven and Tiger

Steven and Tiger(the younger and more handsome one haha)
Looking good pedaling from Desaru
Chipping in when it matters - Good food lobang!
This Father and Son Duo is fast becoming a regular fixture on our Sunday ride. Steven is a professional Tennis coach, a very good one at it too. I first met Steven at the Bintam ride last year. It was both our first "touring" ride with the seasoned goats like Bro Al , Kevin and Papa mike....  tough hills and hot weather.. made this ride unforgettable.

We lost touch for awhile but luckily with SWBS blog and Facebook, we reconnected again.. mostly on the Sunday ride. Best of all, his son Tiger also joined us for the ride too!
Steven have an classic "CSM (Company Sergant Major) booming voice and a knack of organising people..which is very good in getting folks to get ready for the lovecycling group photo haha. He also helps out on the traffic junctions and makes the newbies feel very at home.
Thank you Steven for ur help in making Sunday rides so fun and enjoyable!
