New old bike (NOB)
Gentlemen...it is done.. I went and collected the bike from Chris of TR bikes. I am very happy... went for spin later at night after my daughter was asleep. nice and can't stop smiling. Here is the pic my old new bike. Will bring NOB to see my riding kakis tomorrow..
hi Alvin, yes yes..thanks! happy like a bird.. we for a slightly longer ride on sunday... from potong pasir to pasir ris... it was ok. just need to hunch abit. I am playing around with the handle bar... flipped it over just now. it felt so much better but visually "slow down 10km/hr" haha... will show u this baby when u come over SG next time!
@Sudirman, thanks! coming from u I am really honored! This is my first bike which was earned by working part time at a book store... here is how it looked ...here is my story. http://smallwheelsbigsmile.blogspot.com/2010/07/lost-and-found-after-20-years.html
Nice bike! I'm hoping to convert a vintage steel too. did u hv to change the hubs to freewheel? i noticed an extra piece on the rear. what's the total cost(approximate will do)? thanks ps i think i might just do with a flat bar or reuse my old drop one for a back friendly posture :) cheers Lim
Thanks Lim, yes I did change the hubs. It was all done by the guys from TR bikes. Look for Chris, henry and lyten. They are pros and listen to what u want and make it happen.
Chantek! I'm sure u must be v satisfied and happy. I love the choice of yr seat - Brooks right?

ReplyDeleteVery nice style. Now all you need to make it perfect is to throw away the free-wheel. Single speed is excellent, but fixed gear is ... fixed!
ReplyDeleteTim :)
haha.. some day some day!
Deletewhat's the material of the frame? would love to have a bike like this
