How to feedback on errant cyclists and other inconsiderate road behaviours

I found this app at the apple store by our Singapore Police Force. It's a handy app by SPF to give access to general public on the useful information around their homes on the crime cases and also missing people appeals. It also can make it easier for the public to provide leads when they see something unusual or when they see a crime happening.
I played around it and found that there is a tab that could prove useful for cyclists, pedestrians and PMDs users alike.
Of course, I sincerely hope we do not have to resolve to enforcement but I am pragmatic in knowing that sometimes, it is necessary to have the hard stick of the law to nudge people into behaving themselves. So here's how u can use it.

1) Download via Apple app store and look for Police@SG
Search under Police@SG

2) Click on the 3 horizontal line icons
First landing page and click on the red circle
3) Click on the "E-Services" tab

4) Scroll down to "REPORT"
Scroll down to "REPORT" tab and click on "Feedback on Road user"

5) Type in ur issues on the "E-Services"

Fill up the colums and add ur photos of the location and if possible the infringements

6) And u are done. I am sure SPF contact you later if they needed any clarification.

Pls let me know if you have tried it and if its any good. If there are any issues, kindly share with me and I can help consolidate and feedback to our good folks in blue. Thanks!

2nd March 2013 sunday ride and visiting the accident site

On 25th Feb, a young army boy was a victim of a hit and run. More on the sad incident here
We were all praying that he would recover slowly but it was not to be. I watched the video done by his school mates and my heart ached.  I don't know him personally but really felt that this shouldn't have happened. This is life. Gone in a flash.
With this sad incident, I deliberated with some of my friends if we should continue the Sunday ride(planned earlier) which would take us near the accident spot.  I was really feeling very bad about the whole thing...
The team conclusion was that we should and to stop at the bike accident spot. Offer a minute of silence.  As we stood there observing a min of silence.... I pray that the driver would have the courage to come out and admit his wrong doing. A son is killed and his mum is still grieving.
To the driver, if you are reading this. Don't make a wrong decision again.
To other fellow cyclists, if you want to go and observe a min of silence. The accident site is Loyang road (off Selerang Camp) - Lamp post 11-12

LTA speaks on road safety and "Black spot Scheme"

Taken from LTA FB page
Taken from LTA Facebook communications on 5th May.
"LTA takes proactive measures to keep our roads safe. Our road safety engineers conduct regular safety audits, where they comb through our roads, day and night, walking and driving, to identify short-comings. We also have schemes like the Black Spot Programme, which systematically identifies and treats accident-prone locations through the implementation of road engineering solutions at targeted locations.
Other notable schemes to improve road safety include the installation of Your-Speed-Signs, traffic calming measures, crash cushions, curve alignment markers, advance warning lights and bus stop bollards.
As the agency responsible for the development and management of the public road network, we take our work seriously, keeping Singapore’s roads safe for all road users."

Maybe LTA team can consider looking at what we have already done as a community...  Do you think more can be done to make our roads safe? I just find it crazy that LTA can have electronic eyes setup to curb illegal parking but still moving so slowing when it come to protecting the cyclists. What do you think?

2 brothers killed by a Cement Trucker at Tampines

Yesterday evening, I was greeted with a very sad news. First from Lovecyclingsg Facebook... later in the SG media. It involved 2 school kids and a cement truck.
Seriously. How many more need to die? It happened 50m from the School for heavens sake! I can't imaging the trauma and anguish for their parents.
Also on the news was that the junction was known to be dangerous and heavy with traffic.  Dangerous and nothing is being done?  Specific to this location, what about a "School Zone" speed limit? This is done in many countries like States and Australia. Speed limit are enforced strictly and the speed for the area are slowed down with addition speed stripes, raised ramp platforms.
No matter how safe a cyclist ride, we are still at a losing end of the deal. Thats how it is. I don't like it but that the way it is.
To Drivers, please please watch out for cyclists. It might be a slight scratch on your bumper but your action have great consequences.
To Cyclists friends, please please be on your guard and watch out.  Dont' ride like you are invincible. We got only our senses to keep us safe.

School boy cyclist in a Coma after collision

This happened on 18th Sept 2012, Junction of Balam Road and Circuit road.  I am documenting so that we can have more information on the cycling incidents on our roads. My thoughts are with the boy and his parents. :(

This is Balam Road/Circuit Road on Google map. Have a look at the accident area.

Observation
1) It is a residential area with 2 school with in 200m radius. Probably lots of students would be walking, cycling around esp during the early morning, after school timing.
2) 3 lane with a smooth banking right hander turn
3) Traffic light implemented at Balam/Circuit road, with sloping ramp for the elderly on wheel chair
4) A row of shophouses along Circuit road where pedestrians will try to jaywalk.

3 lane in single direction
