Crowd sourced Lovecyclingsg Tee design

Lovecyclingsg is a community led cycling group and when there was more requests for another round of Tee, we thought it would be most appropriate to have the community submit their ideas of what it meant to be LCSG. As a gesture of appreciation, we will give the winner a tee....and of course the bragging rights
to have his/her design on Singapore most fun cycling group.
To me, LCSG is more than just cycling. It's a meeting of friends and to explore the sights of our city, Singapore. Its magical when strangers meet, they can start to chat about bicycles and the best eating places.  I searched my blog and laughed about the cool creative sketch by Tah Ching and Joeel.

28th Aug 2011, Visit to Seletar Airbase and Jln Kayu roti prata

Lovecyclingsg @ birdcage lane, Seletar airbase
28th Aug, Sunday. We met as usual for the Lovecyclingsg ride. This was Adriane first ride as a Lead rider. Over the last week, he helped to plan the route and update the ride attendees.  There was about 24 riders and after his route briefing at Khatib MRT, we rolled slowly in the direction of Seletar Airbase, assisted by the regulars like Clarence, Steven Tang, Steven Lim and Boo.
We also showed the folks the new road to Punggol which connects Yishun and makes for a nice and relaxed ride.  What I really like about our group is that we have a mix of every thing. From Roadies, foldies, mountain bikes... branded or non brand, all having a good time and just cycling as a team. Let's keep it this way!
As we rode close to Seletar airbase, most of us were very hungry and we made a detour to have a Roti prata breakfast at Jalan Kayu. The pratas at Thasevi were good but abit too expensive in my opinion.  I remember a plain prata used to cost 50cts and now it cost $1.00... talking about some inflation going on.  With our stomaches setttled, we cycled in Seletar airbase, took a photo at Brompton street. Derek was so happy and Steven Tang not soo..  Nice and short romp around seletar.. do visit it before the place get changed even more.  The rest of the ride photos here... below Video is from Boon yeo(thanks buddy!)
Lastly, well done, Adriane for leading the ride and many thanks to the regulars to make it a safe and fun ride for all!

3rd June night ride 2011

lovecycling crew, lighted by our own lights @ MBS
I don't usually do night rides as by the time I reached home and settle my little momo(I pat her to sleep).. I am usually konk out too... But on 3rd June, I rode from Pungol to meet my friends at Kallang MRT, with Poh huat riding with me. On reaching the meet point I was pleasantly surprised at the turnout... 70 riders!

move off!
Apparently another group - West riders also joined us..Wonderful! After a safety/route briefing by Steve and Zack, the whole group started off around 1150am. We rode around Geylang toward Paya lebar. The roads were relatively quiet and the weather really cool and nice.

Esther and Joeel almost reaching Chomp chomp
We rode as a group blinking lights and some with blaring music setup. Great feeling... seeing all bikes of size and types riding together.

Very soon, we reached Chomp chomp for a pitstop. Many went for sugar cane juice, some had dessert...I had Wanton noodle from the end store. Nice! Also met Cat and hubby who was waiting for us there. I could see from their faces.. they wanted to join... and I think they will soon!

Blurry eyed.. beautiful night
Zack on Sweeping duties... thanks man!
From Chomp chomp we headed to Ang Mo kio> Marymount road> Thomson road> Novea Square > Newton circus.  Around Marymount road, xalvinkwax  had a small spill on the road...which he looked alright but decided not to continue. KS and Clarence did the gentlemen thing and waited his dad to pick him.  Thumbs up for the lovecycling crew!  We did a short break at Newton circus and then rolled once more toward Scotts road... it was then the heavens opened. Luckily we we near Orchard road and took shelter at Paragon.
James from Australia. Welcome!

Millon dollar view in the morning
It was already 2.3am then.. so it was relatively quiet... goofing around and just chatting to wait out the rain. Half an hour later the rain stop and we cycled toward Bras Besah > Esplande>MBS. Along the way, we also saw some chaps sitting on the kerbside.. puking (drink too much)...also had 6 young man riding MTB joining us for awhile... We ended the ride at MBS...looking at the beautiful night scape...I think we will be doing this soon again.
Distance covered: 65 km
Thanks Zack, Steve, Bernice, Steven, Clarence and other for making this ride a pleasurable and safe experience!

Japan, we are with u. Ganbaru!

Life is like that... if the problem is not in our backyard.. it is really quite difficult feel the trauma and the impact on the people lives. I am sure we have all seen the terrible destruction on our TV and internet, and if so how does that move u?  What do u think they need now? hmmm...tough questions...
Also wondering why I am feeling this way... perhaps it is because I have friends in Japan. Asaka san Toshi, Maki, Masura san, Nakano san and many more. Which makes me more aware of the impact to my friends lives...and I want to do something about it. So... we will be doing a short video to show our support for Japan friends on the regular sunday rides... Japan, we are with u! Ganbaru!
More details below.
